Set in gardens, this substantial Victorian country house is delightfully furnished. The spacious bedrooms are thoughtfully equipped with many extras, one even has a piano, but no TVs or kettles the proprietor prefers to offer tea as a service. Delicious meals feature local and home-grown produce and are served house-party style around one table in the interesting dining room. Ann and Robin Clough were finalists in this year's Friendliest Landlady of the Year award (2011-12).
